STEP 1. Biometric Identification
 First, before you start the vehicle, you touch the fingerprint scanner, which biometrically identifies YOU as the driver and recalls your historic data.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This scanning feature doubles as a high-tech security device for your vehicle. Only the individuals you have specifically registered into your CaviKey System will be able to start and drive the vehicle. This offers added protection for you. Plus, it’s easy to explain away your “new security system” to inquisitive passengers, should they ask. |

STEP 2. Screening For Sobriety
Once your fingerprint is scanned and recognized, you’re then screened for sobriety.
- All you have to do is recall and perform a unique sequence of tasks.
- Just a simple sequence, such as fastening your seatbelt, turning the lights on, tapping the brake, locking the doors, etc.
- To outsiders, you’re simply adjusting yourself to prepare to drive… and it’s completely discrete.
- Easy to do when you’re sober, but difficult to manage when impaired.

During installation, CaviKey sensors are quietly integrated into the controls used in your sequence. The signals received are used by the CaviKey System to measure your time and performance as you complete the tasks. CaviKey's sophisticated computer algorithms instantaneously compare your current reaction time to your historical reaction time. Impairment is indicated when the two don’t match. |

STEP 3. Relax And Drive Off ...
Once you perform the sequence in the correct order and within your historical amount of time, you’re cleared to start the vehicle.
